Sage ERP X3 Recognized as a Leader in Nucleus Research Technology Value Matrix for Enterprise Resource Planning, 2012

January 14, 2013

IRVINE, Calif. (January 14, 2013) – Sage North America today announced its inclusion in the Nucleus Research 2012 second half Technology Value Matrix for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with Sage ERP X3 named a Leader. Sage ERP X3 is the most powerful and flexible business management solution by Sage for mid-market companies and subsidiaries of large groups looking to grow a competitive business with limited IT resources.

According to the report, the trend toward the consumerization of ERP comes with the need for integration between ERP and other software solutions. Nucleus describes Sage ERP X3 as being “scalable and flexible” with an “improved user experience” and integration with various Sage cloud applications, such as Sage SalesLogix for CRM, Sage Exchange for payment processing, and Sage Sales Tax for sales tax automation.

Through the analysis of end-user experiences, vendors are evaluated on both the usability and functionality of the applications and placed into four categories of the Nucleus Research Technology Value Matrix: Leaders, Experts, Facilitators, and Core Providers. The Technology Value Matrix measures two core attributes that best indicate an application’s ability to deliver initial ROI and, ultimately, maximum value over time. Vendors in the Leaders quadrant have invested in both functionality and usability features that are likely to deliver the greatest potential returns. These vendors have both diverse and comprehensive product offerings, which enable organizations to maximize ROI, and the resources to help organizations deploy large-scale applications.

“Sage ERP X3 offers preconfigured solutions for manufacturing (discrete and process), services and distribution. With its latest major release, Sage ERP X3 provides an improved user experience with Webtop (a set of personalized widgets), better search capabilities, and extended cloud applications,” said Gabriel Gheorghiu, principal analyst, Nucleus Research. “It can also be deployed as a hybrid delivery model, which is a combination of cloud and on premises. These enhancements make Sage ERP X3 one of the top ERP solutions from both a functionality and usability perspective.”

“This recognition in the Nucleus Research Technology Value Matrix is a testament to our focus on the user experience and giving businesses greater freedom to succeed,” commented Joe Langner, executive VP of Midmarket Solutions for Sage North America. “It’s our intent to provide businesses with choice and flexibility with their business management software, and the ease of a hybrid deployment of Sage ERP X3 integrated with other connected services makes this possible.”
