Unit 4 Agresso aligns Agresso and CODA to accelerate momentum in core market

June 12, 2009

Unit 4 Agresso, a leading international producer of business software for public and private sector organisations, has announced its new joined-up international go-to-market strategy for both Agresso and CODA. The Group aims to be the global business software supplier of choice for businesses living in change (‘BLINC’ for short). The new go-to-market strategy is anchored around the repositioning of its two flagship brands, Agresso and CODA. This gives the Group a clear and differentiated position on which to build further momentum in this fast growing horizontal sector, with a strengthened solution portfolio of change embracing enterprise software.

Ton Dobbe, Vice President for Product Marketing at Unit 4 Agresso, commented: “Our continued success results from our ability to combine our strengths and expertise and differentiate ourselves in the market. Our go-to-market approach is fundamentally different to our competitors in that we do not segment our target market by vertical but by characteristic. Our focus is on any organisation that faces frenetic levels of ongoing business change, such as reorganisations, take-overs and mergers, compliance, legislative and regulatory issues, or meeting new stakeholder expectations. Such changes and demands require continuous adjustment, redesign and integration of various key elements of a business system.”

Unit 4 Agresso’s new international go-to-market strategy is aimed at fixing arguably the biggest frustration - the cost and speed of change - from two different angles:

For dynamic organisations preferring to standardise on a homogeneous business software environment and consequently opting for an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite, the biggest frustration reveals itself in the inability to accommodate business change after implementation. This is because traditional ERP requires ongoing costly and time consuming recoding in order to support such change. Ton Dobbe said: “This is where our Agresso solutions differentiate. Unlike traditional ERP, Agresso Business World is built on a ‘living architecture’ (VITA), which is the only architecture on the market which smartly couples data, business processes and reporting and analytics to move in lockstep. This means that when a change is made in one area, it is automatically replicated elsewhere and does not need to be redone and rechecked for accuracy in another - clearly saving time, money and the pain associated with any change and without the need to rely on expensive external consultants.”
For dynamic organisations preferring to standardise on a heterogeneous business software infrastructure and consequently opt for a range of specific line-of-business software, the biggest frustration reveals itself in significant and on-going integration challenges. Ton Dobbe said: “As a direct result of having a variety of software solutions in place, businesses frequently suffer from significant cost and time pressures from the numerous and ongoing integration requirements necessary to keep all these applications, as well as any new ones, working together efficiently. This is where our CODA solutions differentiate themselves.
“In selecting CODA, businesses can keep their best of breed approach to software as well as benefitting from access to the rich functionality our financial software delivers. This is because CODA’s LINK architecture allows businesses to add, change or integrate business applications rapidly and cost effectively, with significantly less need for expensive external consultancy work than is typical with other business systems. With CODA we are able to offer finance executives a no compromise approach to application change management. This is true for both traditional ‘on premise’ software and, with the launch of our software as a service financial application CODA 2go, in the cloud.

“We believe that with the post implementation agility offered by Agresso and the interoperability delivered by CODA we are well placed to extend our market reach and our position as the preferred global business supplier for Businesses Living IN Change.”
