September 11, 2009

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announced that Maillefer, a worldwide leader in extrusion and winding solutions to the wire, cable and pipe industries, has chosen IFS Applications to support growth and streamline corporate processes. Implementations will start simultaneously in Switzerland and Finland using a unique group core model, and go-live is expected in early 2010.

Maillefer delivers complete solutions to its customers, such as Nexans, ( France), Geberit, (Switzerland), General Cable, (USA), and LS Cable, (South Korea), providing a project-based approach to all the solutions it delivers. Headquartered in Switzerland, the group targets manufacturers of energy, fiber optic and telecom cables as well as plastic pipe manufacturers. Services and products are provided across the entire product value chain, ranging from design, R&D, prototyping and assembly all the way to maintenance and repair.

As part of the implementation of IFS Applications, the Maillefer operations will be able to standardize processes, making it quicker and easier to serve customer needs worldwide.

“We wanted a complete, modern business software system that could support our business plans. At the same time it needed to be agile enough to cover the entire company value chain. The component architecture in IFS Applications gives it the capacity to deliver a wide range of functionality within the same product using a common user interface, with impressive capabilities to increase user productivity. IFS Applications is one of the few tools that is project-oriented with very strong engineer to order and maintenance capabilities,” Maillefer CIO Gilles Gauchoux said.

“Maillefer is an excellent example of how IFS’ focused industry approach fits the customer’s needs. IFS Applications provides the range of components Maillefer needs to run its project-based business efficiently,” IFS France President and CEO Amor Bekrar said.

The solution includes core IFS Applications components that provide functionality for project management, manufacturing, financials, and corporate performance management.
