Infor Consolidates Waterloo Housing’s Accounts with Single Financial Solution

September 17, 2009

Infor today announced that Waterloo Housing Group, which manages and builds quality homes across the East and West Midlands, has deployed Infor FMS SunSystems. The solution will help consolidate the housing group's accounting systems to increase visibility and streamline its financial reporting.

Waterloo Housing Group is a recently merged organisation which incorporates Eastern Shires Housing Group, which owned 11,500 properties and the former Waterloo Housing, which managed 5,500 homes. With an increase in the portfolio of properties to 17,000, the newly formed group required a solution capable of consolidating its accounting structure onto one system.

To find the 'best fit' financial application, the new group compared the capabilities of both the Eastern Shires' and former Waterloo Housing groups' existing systems, and reviewed the market for other providers. "We have grown organically and through the merger, so it was essential that the new group adopted the right solution to sustain and support future growth," comments Dermot McRoberts, group finance director, Waterloo Housing Group.

"After comparing what we already had at Eastern Shires and the former Waterloo Housing groups, plus taking a good look at the market, it was clear that SunSystems, which was adopted at Eastern Shires, would be the best way forward. We wanted a powerful and sophisticated solution that would be easy to use and one which could consolidate the different accounting facilities of the two former housing groups."

Waterloo Housing was impressed with SunSystems' ability to simplify complex data to refine account management, and create easy and quick reporting for stakeholders. Dermot McRoberts explains:

"We were impressed with SunSystems because the solution is robust, scalable, and full of functionality. Other applications seemed rigid whereas Infor's solution offered greater flexibility. The nature of its design allows it to be moulded to suit different business models, and this was very appealing."

Waterloo Housing Group has over 400 employees, of which 100 will use Infor FMS SunSystems.
