Sage Nonprofit Solutions Marketing Executive Heather Burton Co-Presenting Session on SEO and Web 2.0 at 2009 AHP Rockies & Southwest and Southeast Regional Conference

June 08, 2009

Nashville , TN - Jun 08, 2009 - Sage North America announced today that Heather Burton, senior product marketing manager for its Nonprofit Solutions business, is co-presenting an education session, titled “Web Wise: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Web 2.0 Tools,” at this week’s 2009 Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) 2009 AHP Rockies & Southwest and Southeast Regional Conference. Burton will present the session along with Dell Johnson, director of marketing and community relations for Nashville, Tenn.-based Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center.

During their education session, Burton and Johnson will show AHP regional conference attendees how to make their organization’s Web sites are helping to increase awareness of, and driving people to, their organizations. The session will provide golden nuggets of information to enable attendees to attract visitors with search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and to determine what Web 2.0 tools may be right for their organizations.

Burton has been involved in the nonprofit sector for more than a decade. Prior to joining Sage Software in 2005, she worked in several development roles, including as a development manager for a 40-year old social service agency and as a loan executive for United Way. She also led volunteer fundraising teams for a hospice, and sat on corporate giving and workplace campaign committees.

Burton regularly contributes articles on fundraising topics to such nonprofit magazines as Advancing Philanthropy, FundRaising Success, Religious Product News, The NonProfit Times, and The Promise. She is a member of AHP, as well as the greater Austin Chapter of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals), and is currently president-elect for the board of BookSpring in Austin, Texas.

In addition to serving as director of marketing and community relations for Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, Johnson serves as board treasurer for Big Brothers of Nashville. Previously, she worked as a special liaison for the City of Indianapolis, Mayor’s Office, and later as a lobbyist for the only affordable housing cooperatives organization in the Illinois. She also previously served as the government relations director for the Chicago branch of a Fortune 500 health insurance company.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., and a nursing degree from the National Education Centers in Chicago. She is an accomplished and published author of poetry and other writings, and continues to consult for various different political campaigns and marketing firms.

The AHP Rockies & Southwest and Southeast Regional Conference enables health care philanthropy professionals to hear from innovators in current and emerging best practices, plus connect with others in positions similar to theirs to exchange experiences and explore ways to tackle common challenges. This year’s conference, being held through June 9 at the Renaissance Nashville in Nashville, Tenn., will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn new and better ways of leading and managing their development office to meet mission-critical needs.

In addition to the education session on SEO and Web 2.0 best practices, Burton will facilitate a roundtable discussion on donor loyalty at the 2009 AHP Rockies & Southwest and Southeast Regional Conference. She most recently presented an education on donor loyalty at the 2009 AHP Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Richmond earlier this month.
