Healthy Benefits for HoMedics with Infor ERP LN

May 29, 2009

Infor today announced that HoMedics, a leading global provider of health and wellness products - including Salter weighing scales - has gone live following an eight month Infor ERP LN implementation. The ERP solution is now deployed for 55 users across HoMedics' UK headquarters and subsidiary operations in Italy and Germany.

Infor ERP LN will help increase visibility, enhance processes and reduce costs throughout HoMedics' European operations - streamlining sales ordering, accounting and purchasing functions, whilst cutting inventory levels.

Following significant sales growth of 27 per cent, HoMedics required a solution which would help expand its business into Europe. HoMedics chose ERP LN based on its ease of integration with existing systems and the ability to have a quick implementation.

The Infor project team has delivered an accelerated time to value by focusing on 10 key business roles supported by pre-defined implementation templates. These roles include essential business processes to support sales, purchasing, planning and warehousing.

Keith Allison, operations director, HoMedics, commented: "No matter how much due diligence you undertake you can never be 100% sure what you might uncover, so it is here that you can really judge the quality of your partner. As with all projects, we had a few initial difficulties, yet Infor dealt with these efficiently and effectively.

"Infor really understands our business, market sector and the types of challenges we face and this helped ensure the implementation was both on time and on budget. Infor enabled us to realise the benefits of the software quickly and with a lower total cost of ownership. With almost immediate effect the system provided us with key information on our third party logistics operations, which triggered us to take instant action to create some significant efficiency gains."

Keith Allison, concluded: "Now that phase one is complete and staff are fully up to speed with ERP LN we look forward to completing the second phase of the implementation by July, which will include Workflow and Event Management modules. They will be key in identifying bottlenecks in the process cycle and other costly pinch points which we wouldn't otherwise know about. This will allow us to maximise our workflow in order to fulfill sales demand."
