May 07, 2009

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 7, 2009-- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that Norway-based K.Lund Offshore has licensed the Lawson M3 Equipment Service Management and Rental Suite, with specific preconfiguration for the oilfield services industry. In addition, K.Lund Offshore licensed Lawson Smart Office, Sales and Marketing Automation, and Service and Rental Planning Boards. The solution will be deployed on an IBM System i platform and will be implemented at K.Lund Offshore’s facilities in Norway and Brazil. The contract was signed during Lawson’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, which ends May 31, 2009.

Based in Sola, Norway, K.Lund Offshore supplies and rents compressors and lifting equipment to the Norwegian and international oil and gas industry. The company, with a corresponding site in Macaé, Brazil and presence in Abu Dabi in the United Arab Emirates, operates in highly regulated business environments.

“One of the reasons we chose the Lawson solution for the oilfield services industry was an initial assessment that demonstrated the solution could provide a 94 percent functional fit for our specified needs,” said Gunnhild Vik, project manager for K.Lund Offshore.

“We estimate this solution may save us up to 35 percent in our purchasing budget,” added Gaute Jorpeland, managing director and co-owner of K.Lund Offshore. “Beyond Lawson’s industry expertise and functionally rich solution, we have greatly appreciated their professional and customer friendly way of dealing with us.”

From large oilfield equipment companies and heavy equipment dealers to smaller providers of specialized services, including regional and multi-continent organizations, the Lawson solution helps track and maintain a company’s equipment for efficient usage and improved turnaround time. In addition, it helps companies manage, staff and service projects with greater ease and efficiency, which can help maximize customer satisfaction and improve an organization’s bottom line.

“With a single, integrated and scalable business system from Lawson, companies such as K.Lund Offshore can better manage key business processes. It brings transparency and one version of the truth, which helps them work more collaboratively and effectively,” said Ron Kubera, general manager, equipment service management and rental for Lawson.
