April 08, 2009

ST. PAUL, Minn., Apr 08, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced a new partnership with Commsoft Technologies, a Canada-based provider of enterprise software sales and consulting services. Under this partnership, Commsoft will focus on selling the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System to small and mid-size firms in distribution, general manufacturing, and food and beverage production - primarily in Quebec.

Commsoft will offer localized service with French language capabilities, which is critical when working with Quebec-based customers and prospects. Commsoft also has specific experience and expertise with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software development, implementations and maintenance.

Lawson provides the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System, an ERP system designed specifically around the needs of companies in manufacturing, distribution and equipment service management. Within this system, Lawson also offers industry-specific functionality for the fashion and food and beverage industries.

"Our two companies focus on the same specific industries, which will help us provide value to customers and prospects in our respective target markets," said Jeff Farris, strategic alliance manager for Lawson. "Commsoft helps extend the reach of Lawson enterprise applications in the Quebec market with its region-specific expertise, as well as its industry-specific experience. Working together, we can help companies in this area become stronger and more effective, which is even more critical during tight economic times."

"We see the Lawson M3 system as a compelling ERP offering for the types of companies we serve in this region," said Alix Muller, Commsoft CEO. "We, like Lawson, are committed to delivering flexible options for our customers coupled with smooth implementations at a relatively low total cost of ownership. Our consulting services are well-positioned to support the Lawson product offerings."

Commsoft is structuring its organization with dedicated teams focusing on sales, pre-sales, software implementation and maintenance.
