Plex Online Speaks Chinese; Company Shows Off In LA

March 25, 2009

Plex Online, delivered via the Software as a Service model, easily incorporates and manages data in yuan currency, Chinese date formats, tax and other business requirements unique to China ‘s mainland region, as well as offering all features and functions translated into Mandarin, the predominant language in China.

”China is the world's third-largest economy, and the Chinese manufacturing sector is the main driver of the country's economy. China's manufacturing sector is growing even as markets contract in other regions. Plex Systems is committed to supporting our customers in this dynamic region,” said Plex president and CEO Mark Symonds. “Few ERP solutions offer truly integrated multi-cultural data functionality to track Chinese business requirements, tax laws, currency and other global business considerations. It is a tremendous advantage for suppliers serving Chinese manufacturers to actively monitor and manage operations from any internet-based browser anywhere in the world.”

As an example, a North American-based supplier of sealing materials optimized operations with a warehousing company in China using Plex Online, which had been fully localized for Chinese accounting rules, usage conventions, regulations and taxation compliance. Using just a Web browser, inventory data is automatically integrated with sales, shipping, accounts receivable, and scheduling so the company knows the status of all inventory at all times. This lets the company foster stronger relationships with its warehouse business partner and customers in Asia; and fully integrates that data with North American operations.

Plex also said it is exhibiting at the Westec 2009 Advanced Productivity Exposition at the Los Angeles Convention Center from March 30-April 2.

Described as the west coast’s largest manufacturing and machine tool event, the annual gathering is hosted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and showcases products and technologies for manufacturers.

“This is a perfect venue to highlight Plex Online manufacturing software, including the system’s robust shop floor control and quality management functions specifically designed for aerospace, defense and medical manufacturers,” noted vice president of marketing Patrick Fetterman. “Plex Online Software as a Service solution delivers integrated shop floor control, ERP functions, manufacturing execution systems and more. WESTEC attendees will see first-hand how Plex Online captures data at the point of origin and processes it in real-time, offering unparalleled visibility into manufacturing operations, inventory, and costing.”
