Planet Filters Selects Infor ERP LN to Boost Customer Service and Integrate Global Production

Infor today announced that Planet Filters, a producer of filtration products for more than 30 years and part of Ufi Filters Group, has selected Infor ERP LN to improve the efficiency of its global manufacturing operations. Infor ERP LN is a robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that integrates essential business functions within a scalable, multi-language, open systems platform.

Infor's solution, which includes production scheduling, quality control, workflow and ERP, was implemented in January 2009 at Planet Filters' Italian operation near Bergamo. The solution will be rolled out to the entire group, including Planet Filters' Chinese subsidiary company in Shanghai, which is already benefiting from Infor's ERP solutions.

Planet Filters is a leading company in the production of filters for the hydraulic sector. One of the company's strengths is customer service: providing a complete and up-to-date product range which includes high levels of customisation according to the customer's individual specifications and international sales channel.

The IT system previously used by Planet Filters could not meet the needs of its management team. The Italian team identified a requirement for a more advanced, modern integrated solution that would help streamline business processes efficiently.

Within its commercial area, Planet Filters needs to use web tools to enable its sales to create remote orders, manage the sending of confirmation orders and invoice by e-mail. The production team also requires production scheduling and shop floor data capture to be integrated with the ERP system. The need to better manage warehouse logistics is also deemed very important.
