Aplicor Named Finalist in British Computer Society IT Industry Awards 2008

November 14, 2008

Boca Raton, Florida, November 14, 2008 - Aplicor, Ltd., a global software manufacturer of on-demand CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software as a service (SaaS) business solutions, was named as a Finalist as the "Large Technology Provider" category for the British Computer Society IT Industry Awards 2008.

Aplicor's award application profiled a global CRM implementation using a SaaS (software as service) delivery model for more than 3,000 users in over 80 countries. The project was recognized as one of the largest SaaS based enterprise delivery projects in the world. David Clarke, BCS chief executive commented, “In the current economic situation it is rewarding to see that IT is continuing to lead through innovation and deliver real business benefits. These projects reflect the fact that technology is an integral and expected part of everyday life and is at the heart of literally every business – even farming.”

During the final presentations, the judges challenged Mark Wakelin, Aplicor UK Managing Director, to explain how such a global team was organized to ensure the delivery of a successful solution within the agreed time and budget for the project. Wakelin responded, "One of the major drivers of success was the partnership between the office of the CIO and the business users. This project illustrated the benefits of getting IT and the business working cooperatively together towards a common shared goal".

John Higgins, director general at Intellect says: “Intellect is delighted to be involved with the BCS IT Industry awards again. Information communication technology improves organisations’ competitiveness and productivity, and helps them meet the needs of their customers more effectively. These awards recognise those technology suppliers, individuals and organisations which do this best. The quality of entries is once again very high and I do not envy the judges their task of identifying the winners – it’s going to be a difficult job.”

This nomination recognizes the innovations and leadership that Aplicor has pioneered in SaaS based business software solutions and their commitment to the delivery of enterprise-wide business systems in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) industry.

Other nominees in the category include Ericsson Managed Services, Sun Microsystems, TIBCO Software, EMC Computer Systems, and IBM. The final awards will be announced in December at a gala dinner at the London Grosvenor hotel.
