Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co. maintains spent nuclear fuel facilities with IFS Applications

SKB is responsible for managing the spent nuclear fuel produced by Swedish nuclear power stations. The company today operates a storage plant, Clab, in Oskarshamn, Sweden. An encapsulation plant is also being planned in Oskarshamn. In 2009, SKB will select either Oskarshamn or Forsmark, Sweden, as the location for the final repository for spent nuclear waste.

The demands on safety, quality management, risk management, technological development, and documentation are very challenging. And as SKB is now approaching the industrial phase of building and operating major facilities, there comes a greater demand on IT support. SKB will implement IFS Applications components for maintenance, purchasing, inventory, and document management.

In 2007, IFS and Logica entered into closer collaboration within selected industries in order to increase sales of Logica’s consulting services and IFS Applications’ components for manufacturing, after sales service, and maintenance. Currently, the companies collaborate on ERP implementations and operation at Saab, SSAB, Tomra, Munters, Iggesund, Scania and REC.

Logica has driven the sales process in this deal.”

These include the world's largest hydropower plant, Three Gorges (P.R. China), nuclear power plants OKG (Sweden), PBMR (South Africa) and Qinshan (P.R. China), grid operators such as Svenska Kraftnät (Sweden), Statnett (Norway) and TenneT (The Netherlands) as well as distributors such as Vattenfall (Sweden) and Hafslund (Norway).
