In many ways a testament to the argument that Sage’s ERP is progressing at a good rate, earlier this month, Sage launched an expanded edition of their Peachtree accounting and financial software, this time catering to SMEs. This release is the Quantum Manufacturing Edition, and is generally available through its nationwide network of Peachtree Certified Consultants. It’s intended for manufacturers with up to 250 employees, and offers easy implementation and customization.

Peachtree Quantum Manufacturing Edition aims to help small to medium-sized businesses in a couple of areas, starting with decreasing their operational and material costs. In addition, many SMEs are finding it difficult to maintain profitability with larger companies moving down the market to remain competitive in a tough economy. And of course, Quantum Manufacturing wants to help companies remain productive in the face of staff reductions.

This new product is in large part Sage’s attempt to offer a well-rounded portfolio of manufacturing tools, and their GM of small business accounting solutions, Connie Certusi, notes in the press release that Quantum Manufacturing is a good supplement for companies already using Sage MAS ERP, Sage Accpac ERP, or Sage ERP X3. Ideally, this new offering is for job shops, custom manufacturers, and make-to-order and make-to-stock manufacturers in all type of industries.

Quantum Manufacturing Edition is also being hailed as an out-of-the-box solution for companies in search of an affordable productivity suite. It’s available in licenses of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40, and starts at $6350.
